This photographic  essay attempts to capture the essence of a  Japanese woman's relationship with her daughter as  she passes down the family tradition of rolling sushi. It is an examination of the importance of culture and heritage as they apply to the passing down of familial traditions from one generation to the next, and brings to light the beauty in the way that something as simple as preparing a meal together can be so powerful in bringing two individuals together.
